Our antibiotic, hormone and artificial preservative free burgers are one of the healthiest options in your local grocery frozen food section.  You don’t have to compromise taste when you are trying to make better choices every day, by cooking healthy meals at home.   But did you know that our Free Graze burgers (while they are great on a bun!) can also be a really fast short-cut to other amazing meals you can prepare in under an hour?

In this article we’re going to share some culinary inspiration and short-cuts that you might not have thought about before.  You can create a delicious dinner beyond the standard ‘hamburger and bun’ when you have an assortment of flavors in your freezer, from Free Graze Foods.

Stuffed Peppers

Imagine you are able to create delicious homemade stuffed peppers in a short period of time (with little mess) after work? Wouldn’t that be a meal to get excited about in the middle of a busy week?  It’s easy when you start with Free Graze premium ground-beef burgers.

If you want to create four individual servings of stuffed peppers, you will need:

·         (4) Free Graze beef patties.  Cook according to directions on the bag.

·         (1) Cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.

·         (4) Large bell peppers (we like using red or yellow peppers that pack a flavor punch).

·         (4) Cups of prepared basmati rice.

·         (1) Cup prepared marinara or red sauce.

·         (1) Tablespoon of garlic powder.

·         Salt and pepper to taste.

After you have finished grilling your Free Graze 100% beef patties and they are cooked thoroughly, allow them to cool slightly.  Crumble the patties (or dice them with a knife) and place the cooked meat in a large bowl.

Wash and remove the seeds and stem from your bell peppers.

Prepare the cooked basmati rice and then combine it with your Free Graze premium ground beef.  Add salt and pepper to taste, and the garlic powder and mix thoroughly. Add the sauce to the mixture.  You can also add a little bit of mozzarella (or a lot!) to make the stuffing extra cheesy.

Stuff each pepper, and then top with 1 tablespoon of sauce and a generous amount of mozzarella cheese on top.  Place in the oven and bake uncovered on 350°F for about 30 minutes, or until the peppers can be penetrated easily with a fork.   Service with a side salad for a delicious and nutritious meal.

Spicy Quesadillas

What is easier to make on a weekday night for dinner, than delicious quesadilla? We’ve got a short cut hack you can try at home to make this amazing kid-friendly meal even easier on Mom or Dad.  Start with Free Graze premium grass-fed frozen hamburgers.

To feed a family of four, you will need:

·         (8) Large fresh tortillas.  Flour tortillas will hold up better than corn varieties.

·         (4) Spicy Jalapeño Free Graze beef patties.  Cook according to directions provided on our bag.

·         (1) Cup fresh cilantro (diced).

·         (2) Cups of shredded cheese.  We suggest a four cheese Mexican blend.

·         Mexican Spice Mix (see recipe below).

·         (1) Can cooked kernelled corn.

·         (1) Can of black beans (rinse thoroughly before using to remove grit).

·         (1) Cup of diced fresh tomatoes.

·         (1) Cup of diced poblano pepper.

·         Sour cream to garnish.

Grill your Free Graze Spicy Jalapeño grass fed beef patties and crumble or dice them, placing the meat in a large bowl.  Add the cooked black beans, diced tomatoes and fresh poblano, and the Mexican Spice Mix to the bow and combine thoroughly.

Quesadillas need to achieve a light toast on the exterior when cooking, so that they are easy to eat.  We recommend using a clay oven tray or a cast iron cookie sheet, where you can place more than one at the same time.

Tip:  You can find Mexican Spice Mix in any grocery store, but if you are stuck and need to make it from scratch, it’s easy.  Follow these steps to make your own at home.

·         1/2 cup chili powder

·         1/4 cup sweet paprika

·         1 tablespoon ground cumin

·         1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder

·         1 teaspoon onion powder

·         1 teaspoon ground dried chipotle Chile pepper

·         2 teaspoons dried oregano leaves

·         1 teaspoon salt

Place two tortillas on the cooking sheet and add the topping in the center. Make sure to spread it out so that the prepared meat and ingredients is covering the full area of the tortilla.  Once the mixture is placed, top it with a generous amount of cheese, then place another tortilla on top, and grill for approximately about 4 minutes before carefully flipping each quesadilla over, and cook for 3 additional minutes before removing from the grill or oven.  Garnish with sour cream and fresh cilantro, then serve.
